the
STARR ENTERPRISESseries
The Starr Enterprises series is a set of films, photography, and short stories all based on my inner-world called The Maw (from 2022 to 2025). This inner-world showcases the multiple facets of personality; the good, the bad, and the ugly. It also is an avenue used to process trauma, a place where I can catalog expressions of vulnerability and help give it a name and purpose within my mind.
The Maw is home to 5 different identities; Homewrecker, Vivarium, Clownette, the Bush Baird, and the Rat.
FILMS
The Dead Sale Catalogs (2025), 15 minutes and 30 seconds
Writer, Director, Editor, Costume, Actor
“The Dead Sale Catalogs” is a found footage horror short based within the Starr Enterprises universe. During a shoot day for one of Vivarium’s many shows, an invasive incident occurs that causes the three crew members to go missing without a trace. Amongst the missing three is Joanna, Vivarium’s right hand assistant. While the crew is missing, Vivarium is miraculously still filming her shows, which causes suspicion as to where the crew has gone.
We follow Jonathan, Joanna’s brother, through his desktop as he is continuing to search for her and the rest of the crew. After a disappointing call from the lead detective, Jonathan is sent a strange email with a link to a website called “The Dead Sale Catalogs”. After uncovering the mysteries of the website, he is left with disturbing answers to his once leadless search.
Made with a combination of desktop recordings, VHS footage, and camcorder footage.
HOMEWRECKER (2022), 4 minutes and 47 seconds
Writer, Director, Editor, Costume, Actor
The first project in the entire series, Homewrecker was the character that kicked off this inner-world lore. As a way to process generational trauma, this film follows Homewrecker as they are go about their day hunting until they are triggered by the sudden presence of a child in the home of who they’re devouring. With a troubling realization, Homewrecker is left with a choice to make, one that could crumble the entire basis of their identity forever.
Showstopper; Lost Episode 13 (2023), 4 minutes and 58 seconds
Writer, Director, Editor, Costume, Actor
“Showstopper; Lost Episode 13” is the very first short film and piece of media made about Vivarium, the titular and iconic host of many of the Starr Enterprises projects. Created from perfectionism, anger, forced femininity, and anxiety over a lack of control, Viv is known behind the scenes to have quite a short-fuse. Despite their on-screen persona, Viv is truthfully not as perfect as they seem. This lost episode about baking a cake slowly dissolves into chaos as Viv can’t seem to control the set as outside forces continue to interrupt the production.
